February Album Writing Month (FAWM) title skirmish. I wrote and posted the lyrics on 2/16. Today (2/25) I came up with the music and edited the lyrics.
The sun shines bright on an old Kentucky Home
Somewhere the deer and antelope might roam
The sunshine could get taken away
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue.
Here and now life is going up and down
Living the dream, living a nightmare,
Go to sleep every night, get up each morning
Life goes on from day into night.
Just another day
Just another night
Just another day doing what you do
From day into night.
The earth keeps turning, gravity holding
We ride from light to dark
Hanging on as we spin on and on
From day into the night.
Just another day
Just another night
Just another day doing what you do
From day into night.
Just another day turning into night
the sun setting to the west
Maybe a bottle of beer,
a glass of wine,
a cup of tea, as you settle down.
Maybe it was just another day at work
Another day at school
Another day raising kids
Another day with nothing much to do
Another day out on the streets
Another day hustling for a job
Another day happy, another day sad
Light and dark, day to night.
